Vedas: Why it is impossible to determine their age?

Image source: VedicFeed   The sacred texts of all other religions can be dated. The Buddha's teachings can be traced back to 500 BCE, when the Buddha lived. The New Testament was written 2,000 years ago,  Quran 1,400 years ago.  However, no one has been able to determine the age of the Vedas. The unique way that the Vedas have been transmitted to us is to credit for this. They were first heard by few great rishis, who orally transmitted them to their disciples. The knowledge was then passed down orally throughout the ages, only to be written down eventually. Apaurusheya and Sanatan Vedas  In Hindu/Sanatan Dharma, it is a fundamental belief that the Vedas are sanatan (eternal) and apaurusheya (not composed by any human being). However many Westerners and Western-educated Indians, cannot accept that the Vedas have no advent. Generally,  the time of the composition of Vedas has been fixed at 6000 BCE, because certain planetary positi...

Lal Ishtehar : The Virulent Proclamation Of Hindu Hatred

"Lord" Curzon in his attempt to supress the protests against the British rule, extended support to Islamic fanatic, Khwaja Salimullah, the Nawab of Dhaka. In February 1904, Curzon had already seduced Salimullah to support the Partition of Bengal. Curzon’s government gave him a loan of ₹ 14 Lakhs at an extremely low interest rate in return for his support at quelling the protests against the Partition of Bengal. Salimullah began with his action-plan to provoke Hindu hatred in the Muslim community. He recruited a fanatic named Ibrahim Khan, who authored and published a anti-Hindu proclamation called LAL ISHTEHAR which was  an open incitement of the Muslims against the Hindus. Lal Ishtehar  read – “ Ye Muslims Arise , Awake ! Do not read in the same schools with Hindus. Do not buy anything from a Hindu shop. Do not touch any article manufactured by Hindu hands. Do not give any employment to a Hindu. Do not accept any degrading office unde...

KASHMIR : THE LAND OF HINDUS

. The Kashmir valley developed from the Satisar lake, the lake of Mata Sati, wife of Lord Shiva. The valley of Kashmir was created due to the prayers of Kashyap Muni, Lord Brahma’s grandson (the God responsible for creation). Kashyapa Muni was one of the Saptarishis, the seven primordial sages recorded in the Vedas. Kashyap Muni was the author of systematic work: Kashyap Samhita, sometimes spelt Braddha Jivakiya Tantra is, a renowned reference book on Ayurveda, particularly in the domains of Ayurvedic Pediatrics, Gynaecology, and Obstetrics. Geologists agree that this terrain emerged from a lake, as evidenced by lacustrine deposits. As Kashyap muni discovered what today is known as Kashmir, it was named Kashyapmar (meaning lake of Kashyap muni). Over time, it became Kashmar and then Kashmir. Australian political scientist and researcher confirms it. Nilamata Puran also mentions about the origins of Kashmir. Pandit Kalhan, a Kashmiri historian f...

Why Non Muslims Must Boycott Halal Products ?

Halal  is an Arabic term which means `permissible or lawful'. On the other hand,  Haram  is an Arabic term which means `prohibited or forbidden'.  One of the key verses of Qur’an (9:29) talks about the treatment of non-believers, where they should be made to pay a tax called ‘Jizya.’ As per the book, it was also considered as a symbol of their subjugation in front of the supremacy of believers. Halal Certification In many Islamic countries, halal certification is given by the government. In India, FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) certification can be seen on almost all the processed foods but this authority doesn't give halal certification in India.  Halal certification is given by many private companies in India which marks the food or products permissible for the followers of Islam. Important halal certification companies in India are: 1- Halal India Private Limited. 2- Halal Certification ...

What is Dharma ? Hinduism or Sanatan ?

Is Hinduism or Sanatana Dharma a religion? Religion generally denotes a system of morality based on the concept of God. Sanatana Dharma is not something exclusively like that. It evolved in the Gangetic plains in prehistoric times, when the world had not seen or heard the word religion at all. To speak then of Hinduism or Sanatana Dharma as a religion is, to say the least, preposterous. The word dharma does not have an English equivalent, although righteousness can be an approximate word to convey what dharma stands for. Dharma denotes the power or process of sustaining human life in all situations, in fortune and misfortune, favor and disfavour, prosperity and adversity. The word Hindu also calls for a discreet analysis and assessment. Barhaspatya Samhita (a section of the Rig Veda) defines it as the land lying between the Himalayas to the north and Indusarovara (the Indian Ocean) to the south. The relevant verse reads thus: हिमालयात्समारभ्य यावदिन्दुसरोवर...

WHAT IS SWASTIKA ?

The term Swastika emanates from the Sanskrit word swasti = su (good) + asti (being). As a symbol, swastika is a line-design invented by the vedic sages. Its specific geometry is believed to have some relation with certain natural energy fields. It is drawn as a cross with equal arms when all the arms are continued as far again at right angles clockwise. The sublime effects, in terms of the cosmic energy currents superimposed in the unique pattern of swastika, correspond to what the swastika symbolizes auspiciousness, wellbeing. The clockwise - (daksināvarta) direction is of significant importance, as it also happens to be the direction of movement (as we see it on the earth) of the sun, which rises in the east and sets in the west. The four sides of the swastika thus represent the four principal directions. The symbol of swastika is being used as a holy sign in India since the times immemorial. Scriptural descriptions define it as ...

Why Am I Proud Hindu?

We often hear and say 'I am a proud Hindu' , 'Hinduism is not a religion but a way of life for me' and so on. But what is there in Hinduism to be proud of ? Are we proud Hindus just because we are born in a Hindu family? Or because there is a superiority complex that because I am born in a Hindu family that's why this religion is great. While there are many apologetic and 'Sickular' Hindus, who take pride in bashing Brahmins and Hinduism, there are many proud Hindus like me who understand the greatness of world's most ancient religion i.e., Vedic Sanatan Dharma (Hindu Dharma). There are not one or two but enormous reasons to take pride in being a Hind u. Here, I'm explaining some of the reasons, Why I am a proud Hindu? ✒️It is the most ancient living religion. Hinduism is a very ancient tradition. Some of its beliefs and practices date backs to prehistoric times. Probably, the present day Hinduism contains some elements and aspects of...
